Padel Pingpong rules

Padel PingPong combines the exciting game of Padel with classic table tennis and allows players to compete with more control.

The rules of Padel Pingpong are very similar to table tennis. However, there is more versatility in Padel Pingpong as players can hit the ball off the surrounding walls for creative, high-energy rallies.

How it works

  • 2-4 Players
  • Players can hit the ball off the glass after the table bounce
  • Score is much like table tennis (11-point games)
  • Long rallies, smart angles, quick reactions!
Padel Pingpong is fun from the first point. A sociable and inclusive game, it’s perfect for groups, events and team play. The game can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels. It’s also fun to watch!

How many players?

Doubles is best, but singles work too.

With doubles, the rule is that a player may hit several balls in a row (don’t have to alternate) to keep the ball in play longer.

Points, sets & match

Same as table tennis, the points in Padel PingPong are counted to 11 in each set. A player has to win by 2 points. The first player to have 3 sets wins.

“Ready-play” rules mean anyone ready can serve as long as the opponents are ready. This increases the pace of the game when compared with regular table tennis.

Bouncing the ball off the table and glass

The basic idea is to hit the Padel Pingpong ball directly over the net or past the net via the glass to hit the opponent’s side of the table. If a player hits the ball off the net, floor,  or ceiling, or bounces out of the court, the ball is lost.

The ball can bounce once off the table, but any number of times off the glass, but not off the opponent’s short side wall.

A serve in Padel Pingpong must always bounce on the player’s own side first and then hit the table on the other side of the net. Net tolls are allowed but not side wall. To make a real art stroke, players can also use their back wall as long as the ball then bounces on the opponent’s tabletop without going into the net or hitting the floor first.

Bonus points

If an opponent misses the table, the other side secures one point.

Bonus points are also awarded if you keep the ball alive after one floor bounce and win it. If the ball bounces twice on the floor, the point is over. If the opponent wins it, no bonus point.

When playing Padel Pingpong, you can use the walls to create endless opportunities, longer rallies and more fun!
